The end is in sight!
June will be yet another busy month for 3A. We have several field trips planned along with our other end-of-year festivities.
Report cards
With report cards going home at the end of the month, I wanted to take a moment to review our new reporting system.
The report card includes 3 comments.
General Learner Comments are an overall glimpse at your child's performance at school. They generally focus on behaviour, social interactions, work ethic, etc.
Areas of Strength focus on academic achievements made throughout the year.
Next Steps are goals for both school and home. They may include strategies that students are working on or specific areas of need, such as French sounds, sight words and math facts, that should be worked on at home.
Our new marking system is a 5-point scale.
5 - The student is excelling in learning expectations for this time in the year. He is consistently able to complete challenging tasks independently even in new situations.
4 - The student is meeting learning expectations for this time in the year. She is able to complete some new and challenging tasks with a little help. She can complete familiar tasks independently.
3 - The student is meeting learning expectations for this time in the year. He is able to complete familiar tasks with some help.
2 - The student is approaching learning expectations for this time in the year. She needs help to complete familiar tasks.
1 - The student is below learning expectations for this time in the year. He struggles to complete familiar tasks even with help.
